Night at the Aquarium with Local Youth Groups!
We invited 5 local youth groups to Galway Atlantaquaria on Friday 24th May, after closing time! They got to see everything from an octopus and shrimp, to moon jellies and seahorses.
We had a very warm welcome to the aquarium! Photo by Dr. Talia Arcari.
Each group had their very own guided tour through the aquarium led by the fantastic staff members - even one conducted entirely in Irish for the Ógras group!
The youth groups invited had all taken part in the Cell Explorers Science Club, a 5-week programme that gives young people the opportunity to meet real scientists, and do hands-on science experiments.
As they left, each group was presented with a goodie bag stuffed with science kits so they could continue to do fun experiments!
Thanks to all of the youth workers who brought their groups along to participate in this event, and thanks also to the aquarium staff Nórín, Tara, Petra, and Marie for organising the food and delivering fantastic tours!
